The Bela krajina Development Information Centre is a public institution that promotes entrepreneurship and tourism in Bela krajina, and is responsible for the implementation of the Pokolpje Programme for Bela krajina. The institution primarily operates in the municipality of Črnomelj, but is also involved in projects in other municipalities of Bela krajina and Pokolpje, as well as in regional, national and international projects. The institution also manages the Municipal Museum Collection in Črnomelj, Lahinja Regional Park, business incubator and coworking space in Bela krajina. The Črnomelj Tourist Information Centre and the branch of the Kompas Novo mesto tourist agency are also a part of the institute.
RIC Bela krajina is a partner in the implementation of the CLLD programme as part of a public-private, local partnership for the rural areas of the Dolenjska and Bela krajina (LAG DBK). It also serves as the organiser of the oldest folklore festival in Slovenia, Jurjevanje in Bela krajina.
In the field of entrepreneurship, it offers free business counselling to public tender applicants, it represents the interests of entrepreneurs in eliminating administrative and other development barriers, and it provides domestic and foreign investors information about investment opportunities in Bela krajina.
In the field of tourism, RIC Bela krajina draws up and implements strategies for the development of tourism and designs various comprehensive tourism products and services. It promotes the development of tourism and the Kolpa River tourist destination in Slovenia and abroad.
RIC Bela krajina is a lead partner in the Kolpa River – Feel the River project, which was awarded the title of European Destination of Excellence 2010, and a lead partner in the project to secure the title of Green Destination 2016 in Slovenia and thus the title of Top 100 global destinations.
